Getting to Hacienda Pinilla ✈️🌴
Hacienda Pinilla is located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, near Tamarindo. You have two airport options:
Guanacaste Airport (LIR) – Recommended
About 1.5 hours from Hacienda Pinilla. This is by far the easiest option, so we highly recommend flying into LIR whenever possible.
San José Airport (SJO)
About 4.5–6 hours away by car. SJO may have more international flight options, but the drive to Hacienda Pinilla is much longer. You can always fly from one airport to another.
Getting Around 🚗
You can book a private shuttle from either airport or rent a car.
We highly recommend renting a car once in Guanacaste. It will give you much more flexibility to get around the beaches, restaurants, and everything Guanacaste has to offer.

The JW Marriott Guanacaste is located right inside Hacienda Pinilla, making it a convenient option for the wedding.
There are also plenty of Airbnbs and private villas within Hacienda Pinilla, which can be a great (and sometimes better!) option for families and groups looking for more space and flexibility.

Hacienda Pinilla has plenty of private homes and villas, which are a great option for families and groups. Many can accommodate anywhere from 4 to 12+ guests, depending on the property.
When searching on Airbnb or Vrbo, use “Hacienda Pinilla, Guanacaste” as your location and double-check that the property is inside the gated Hacienda Pinilla community before booking.
For larger groups, sharing a house can be a fun and often more convenient way to stay together!
